DUDLEY Town are determined to build on last season when they finished 14th in the West Midland League.

The Robins have already received a real shot in the arm following a three year sponsorship deal with Oldbury based Black Country Training Group.

Chairman Steve Austin insisted: "The deal is fantastic and has given everyone at the club a huge lift and I have to thank local MP Ian Austin for introducing us to their MD Chris Luty.

"As a result of this deal, we hope it will encourage other sponsors to come forward."

Pre-season is well up and running with the Robins.

Joint managers Andy Alladice and Nigel Kirkham remain in charge and have added several players to last season's squad.

Steve Austin added: "Almost everyone has signed from last season. The only player who hasn't, has moved house, but we're hoping he'll be back with us soon. With the additional players on board, we now have competition for every position."

Dudley have already recorded a 4-0 win over Enville Athletic and a 5-0 success against Tividale Resvers, but were then beaten 2-0 by a very strong Coventry United side who are managed by former Sheffield United player Patrick Suffo.

The Robins host Northern Premier League side Rushall Olympic tomorrow night at the Dell Stadium, kick-off is at 7.30pm.

This match is part of the Black Country Festival and will attract considerable interest as Rushall are managed by former West Bromwich Albion favourite Richard Sneekes, who briefly played for Dudley Town during his illustrious career.

On Saturday, Dudley Town host Midland Premier League side Heath Hayes at the Dell and then on the following Wednesday, August 5th the Robins take on Wrens Nest in their traditional curtain raiser to the season.
