The Premier League Darts have landed at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham, but who hit bullseye?

Scenes in Birmingham were unhinged last Tuesday (11th April) in Birmingham when the Premiere League Darts and Europa League game for Aston Villa came to town on the same day. Fans and Supporters could be heard down the canal from Broad Street at the Walkabout Sports Bar as both football and darts fans mixed before a night of sports in the region. The streets were filled with fancy-dressed fans, eagerly awaiting the 7 pm start of the premier league darts night at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham. If they were not attending the darts night, it was the Aston Villa vs Lille game, for the Europa Conference League.

It wasn’t just the town booming, as thousands of fans gathered inside the arena for Night 11 of the BetMGM Premier League Darts, featuring favourites Luke Littler, Luke Humphries and Micheal van Gerwin.

The Competition got underway at 7pm, with the usual 8 players competing in 4 quarter-finals, where winners will progress into the semi-finals, and then the finals. With 7 games at the best of 11 legs, the audience prepared for the competition with plenty of atmosphere, chanting the chanting theme song many times.

Michael van Gerwin was the champion of the night, as he broke fan favourite, Luke the Nuke Littler’s 2-win streak. Van Gerwin beat the 17-year-old to 6-3, which won him his 4th premier league night of the season.

Current World Champion Luke Humphries was taken out by the Nuke in the semi-finals after losing 6-5, losing to Littler for the 5th time since beating him in the PDC World Championship Finals.

The night at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham leaves Luke the Nuke Littler on top of the table with 26 points, with Luke Humphries behind in 2nd place with a 2-point difference of 24 points.

The Premier League Darts is played every Thursday night, 7 pm until 23rd May 2024.
