A minute's applause was held in memory of a talented footballer on the anniversary of his murder.

Cody Fisher, from Redditch, was stabbed to death in the Crane nightclub in Digbeth on Boxing Day last year.

Former club Bromsgrove Sporting FC held the applause before kick-off in the game against Stourbridge on Tuesday, December 26.

Popular footballer Mr Fisher, who worked as a sports coach visiting several schools including Woodrow First School and Nursery in Redditch, had played for many local teams including Bromsgrove Sporting, Stourbridge FC and Kidderminster Harriers’ academy.

Bromsgrove Sporting said that Mr Fisher will never be forgotten by those who knew him and by all of his former clubs.
