AN investigation has been launched following a "large fire" at an Oldbury recycling plant last night.

Some 10 fire engines using aerial platforms tackled the blaze in Trinity Street just before midnight.

They were called to the site after recieving 999 calls from members of the public.

Nearby residents were advised to keep their doors and windows shut but were later informed there was "no toxic smoke" but to keep them closed as a precaution.

A team of investigators from West Midlands Fire Investigation and Prevention Section (FIPS) were at the scene.
