GOOD morning. The weekend is almost here and to avoid ruining that Friday feeling, we’re bringing you the latest traffic and travel news to help you dodge the queues.
The motorways are looking quite busy this morning – two lanes are closed on the M5 southbound before J8 M50 (Worcestershire) because of roadworks, with congestion to Strensham Services.
Meanwhile there is heavy traffic on the M6 southbound between J10 (Wolverhampton) and J9 (Wednesbury) due to roadworks and slow traffic on the A454 Black Country Route eastbound in Willenhall between Keyway Junction and the M6 J10 island junction.
One lane is also closed on the M5 northbound at J7 A44 (Worcester) because of a broken down vehicle.
Delays are also expected across the Black Country and North Worcestershire due to numerous roadworks including:
Rowley Regis – Temporary traffic light on Beeches Road, between the junctions with Holly Road and Darby Street could add extra time to your journey. Chruch Road is also closed between the junctions with Park Avenue and Rowley Hall Avenue due to gas main work.
Lower Gornal – Bull Street is closed in both directions between the junctions with Louise Street and Himley road due to a burst water main. Diversions are in place.
Cradley Heath – Due to gas main work there is temporary traffic lights on St Anne’s Road, between Foxoak Street and High Street. High Street is also closed due to gas works between the junction with Cradley Road and Prince Street.
Kingswinford – There are temporary traffic lights on Stalling’s Lane between the junctions with Charterfield Drive and Second Avenue due to water main work.
Hagley – Delays can be expected on Park Road at the Oldfields junction because of temporary traffic lights.
Wolverley – Franche Road is closed because of water main work. Delays can be expected at the Fairfield Lane junction.
Kidderminster – Stourbridge Road is closed between the junctions with Brecknell Rise and Springfield Lane due to electricity work. One lane is also closed on A442 Worcester Road between the A449 Chester Road South and A451 The Ringway junction because of roadworks.
