A SUNDAY Friends’ club set up in Halesowen has celebrated its first anniversary.
Jean Green founded the club in August 2014 for people on their own for whom Sundays can be the loneliest day of the week.
The club was an immediate hit and 20 members marked the milestone anniversary at the Maypole pub, Bassnage Road.
Mrs Green, of Quantock Close, said: “A good time was had by all, several members dressed in fancy dress, and the group kindly presented me with a bouquet of flowers.”
She said new members were always welcome and they enjoy social get-togethers, days out and coach trips.
The club meets on the first Sunday of the month at the Maypole pub at 1pm and on the third Sunday of the month at Cheswick’s Coffee Shop, Blackheath, at noon.
