TWO women had to be cut free from their cars after a three-vehicle smash near Alcester.

Emergency services were called to the Alcester Bypass in Oversley Green, shortly before 5.55pm yesterday (Monday) after reports two cars and a van had collided.

Firefighters worked with ambulance staff to free the women before they were taken to Alexandra Hospital for treatment.

One woman, who is believed to be in her 40s, had chest injuries and back pain and the second woman, believed to be in her 30s, was treated for injuries to her face, back and legs.

The two men who were in the van did not require medical attention.
