HARD-WORKING residents can now de-stress by having a relaxing sauna and steam at a Cradley Heath leisure centre.

The new steam and sauna room was officially opened at Haden Hill Leisure Centre by Councillor Paul Moore, Sandwell Council’s cabinet member for Health.

Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate Stephanie Peacock and Councillor Anne Shackleton also joined the opening ceremony.

Councillor Paul Moore said: “I am delighted that we are investing in new and modern facilities for the people of Sandwell. These works are in addition to the three new leisure centres we have already built.”

Stephanie Peacock, who is a member at the centre, added: “The new sauna and steam rooms are a huge improvement for the centre and are proving popular.

“The new facilities are a great addition to the centre’s other newly refurbished areas which include the large dance studios, the changing village and the gym.”

The sauna and steam rooms were originally fitted 15 years ago and have now been fully updated.

The new facilities have been installed to a high specification and now feature tiled seating in the steam room and new relaxation loungers.

Both rooms are open throughout the week with a men only session on Mondays from 7am to 3pm and a ladies only session on Thursdays from 7am to 3pm.

People that wish to use the sauna and steam room can either pay on the day or can take out a membership. Membership includes unlimited use of both rooms along with unlimited public swimming, gym sessions and fitness classes at all SLT centres across Sandwell.
