A PLAN to demolish Halesowen Fire Station to make way for 12 new homes has finally had the go-ahead.
Members of Dudley’s development control committee gave the thumbs up to the scheme by Horgan Homes and Developments Ltd on Monday.
The Hagley Road site will comprise four three-bedroom homes, six four-bed two-storey homes and four two-bed bungalows.
A report to the committee stated: “The scheme applies the principles of good urban design and would make a positive contribution to the character and appearance of the area.”
West Midlands Fire Service closed the fire station in 2012 after a two-year campaign to save it was lost.
